Nine finishes is a generous problem to have. The Comfort Deluxe comes in Cream, Cloud, Silver, Green, Greenish Yellow, Brown, Burgundy, Anthracite and Yellow — and the one you choose in a browser tab at eleven at night is not always the one you want in the room three years later.
Choose for the second room, not the first
A glider bought for a nursery rarely stays in the nursery. It moves to a bedroom corner, a living room, a study. So the useful question is not "does this suit the nursery", it is "where does this chair go next, and does it work there".
That single reframing tends to move people away from the pastel end and towards something they can put anywhere. It is also why our own most-recommended finishes are the quiet ones.
The quiet three
Cream is the safest of the range and the least forgiving of a spill. It makes a small room feel larger and it disappears politely into almost any wall colour. If the chair will live somewhere with pale walls and reasonable light, it is hard to get wrong.
Cloud and Silver do a similar job with more depth. They hold their character against a white wall where cream can flatten out, and they carry marks less obviously.
Anthracite is the one to choose if the chair has to be practical. It is dark enough to live with daily use and structured enough to look deliberate in a living room rather than left over from the nursery.
The three with an opinion
Green and Burgundy are the finishes that make the chair a decision rather than a default. Both sit well against wood and warm neutrals; both need the rest of the room to stay fairly quiet.
Yellow and Greenish Yellow are the boldest in the range. They are wonderful in a room that is otherwise plain, and exhausting in one that is not. If you want one, the honest test is whether the walls around it are doing anything.
If the wood is the point
On the Joli, the base is part of the colour decision. Walnut reads warmer and more traditional; natural keeps the whole chair lighter. The same Light Gray upholstery lands in two quite different rooms depending on which you pick.
One practical note
Whatever you choose, keep it out of long hours of direct sun. Fading is uneven — it is always the side facing the window — and it is the one form of wear that no amount of care undoes. The rest is covered in keeping a glider quiet and smooth.
