Most nursery furniture has one job and then becomes a problem. A cot is a cot. A changing table is a changing table with a short career. A chair is the exception — if it was chosen properly, the end of the nursery years is the middle of its life, not the end.
What actually has to change
Very little. A glider that has done two years of night feeds usually needs its joints snugged up, its cushions turned, and a proper vacuum with a soft brush. That is the whole handover. The one thing worth doing before you move it is checking the ottoman's mechanism as well as the chair's, because it is the part nobody thinks about.
The reading corner
This is where most of them end up, and it is the easiest move: the same motion that settled a baby is very good at holding someone still through a long chapter. A Comfort Deluxe in Anthracite or Cloud reads as a reading chair rather than as nursery furniture, especially once the ottoman is doing footrest duty instead of feeding duty.
The bedroom corner
A tall wingback like the Haven was never nursery-specific to begin with, which is part of its appeal — it moves into a bedroom or a home office without any explaining. The Lilly Deluxe makes the same move with its ottoman.
When it is genuinely time for a different chair
Sometimes the room changes rather than the chair. If the corner is now for sitting with a coffee and turning to face whoever walks in, the motion you want is not a glide at all.
The Ciao turns a full 360 degrees, so it follows the light or the conversation without needing more floor. It also arrives with no assembly required, which is not nothing when it is replacing something you already own.
The Nordic takes the opposite approach: an exposed solid-walnut frame with floating cushions, angled for a genuine recline. It is the most architectural chair we make and the one that most obviously is not nursery furniture.

Choose for this stage at the start
